Frequently asked questions

Safety & security

Can my money be stolen?

Not in a way that leaves you with nothing. CrowdShip does not hold your money today — you pay the traveller directly. Soon we are rolling out secure payment (escrow): the item cost + delivery fee is held by CrowdShip until the package is confirmed as delivered. If the traveller disappears or the item never arrives, you are fully refunded. Until escrow ships, we recommend smaller orders first, meeting in a public place, and starting the relationship with a low-value item to build trust.

What if someone puts something forbidden in the package?

Two things protect you here. First, for a new item ordered through CrowdShip, the traveller buys the product directly from a store — the package is sealed by the merchant, and the traveller can verify the contents before sealing their own bag. Second, at a border crossing the goods belong to the traveller: the traveller paid for the item with their own money (you reimburse them later), so customs has no way to frame you as the owner. The legal and logistical risk sits with the person physically carrying the package, which is exactly what customs law assumes.

General

How does CrowdShip work?

Shoppers post what they need delivered and from where. Travellers post their route. We match and introduce you in Telegram — you agree on price, handoff and timing directly with the other party.

How much does it cost to use CrowdShip?

Posting and matching are free. You only pay the traveller the item cost + the delivery fee you agreed on.

What if the item is wrong or broken?

Once escrow is live, you will be able to dispute a delivery and we will hold funds until it is resolved. For now, agree on return / refund terms with your traveller before they buy the item.
